The only thing better than watching your child achieve a “personal best” performance is seeing them do it after stalling at the gate and coming back to pick off each rider one by one until he achieves 3rd place (of 12) in that moto and 2nd overall. We are thinking he heard us when we told him that performance is one thing but persistence is quite another.
This is as true in the classroom as it is on the track. We can’t all learn everything as soon as we see it. Sometimes it takes persistence and perseverance to learn what we need to learn or want to learn. Encourage your child to stick with it even when it looks like there is no hope of winning.
